Opening Words

Good day employees of the SACSO,

I want to start off by saying I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday and a happy New Year! We've all made it to 2018! It's been a quiet month as we all know due to the activity lift being in a place so needless to say we've all gotten some much needed time off. The Supervisory, Command, and Executive staff have still been working behind the scenes on some new up and coming departmental releases. During the month we can reflect on the enjoyable winter weather we had and the fact that we as a department handled the weather the best I've seen in years. I wanted to say thank you to all of you that gave us your time during this holiday when you weren't forced to, and thank you for maintaining the image of the San Andreas County Sheriffs Office.

As the month has rolled on we've seen some old friends return to the department, and some friends of ours move on from the department. This month, we say farewell to Assistant Sheriff Elijah Walters as he moves into retirement. It's been a tough loss to the Executive staff team without him around, being the voice of reason in most situations. As many of you know Mr. Walters was here from the beginning and was paramount in the opening of our operations here in Red County. The work he put towards the department will never be forgotten, the policies he's implemented will continue to be used, and work etiquette he's shown will be respected and missed. On a more personal level with Mr. Walters, we all may have bickered and griped at one another during our meetings, but the points he brought forward from an honest unbiased perspective were much needed in our situations. The transition from the old sheriff to the new has been a rough road, Mr. Walters ensured that we made the right choices for the Sheriff's Office. Lastly, he was a generally good man. It'll be hard to replace a man like that, I'm not sure that we ever will. Farewell to you and good luck in your future endeavors!

The month has brought us some good tidings as we say welcome to Christopher Kenway and Craig Moyles. As they have progressed into the Command Staff! We'd like to welcome back Tyler Hansen to the Command Staff as well! We look forward to moving on and continuing our constant upward progress within the Sheriff's Office.

Thank you,

Departmental Restructure
Image

Hello all,

With the recent loss of Assistant Sheriff Elijah Walters and the recent lack of command staff we have been struggling to find an effective way to deal with the bureaus and divisions within this department, as they were very unorganized and the bureaus lacked a proper leadership system. Due to this we have decided to do a little bit of a departmental restructure in terms of bureaus and divisions, below I will list the new structure as well as the leaders of each bureau etc. In the upcoming days divisional leaders will be approached by their bureau leader to inform them of the new reporting system when it comes to bureaus.

    Office of the Undersheriff
    • Internal Affairs Bureau
    • Special Training Programs
      • Director of Command in Training Program
      • Director of Supervisor in Training Program

Administrative Bureau - Lieutenant Jason Kennedy
    • Field Training Unit
    • Recruitment and Training
      • Recruitment
      • Academic Training
    • Public Affairs Unit
    • Weapons Licensing Unit

Special Enforcement Bureau - Assistant Sheriff Albert Holmes
    • Special Weapons and Tactics
    • Canine Services

Field Services Bureau - Lieutenant Tyler Hansen
    • High Speed Interception Unit
    • Air Support Unit
    • Criminal Intelligence Unit
    • Parking Enforcement Unit

As you can see, not too much has changed in terms of the actual structure of divisions. However, we have just made sure that each bureau has a suitable leader. As stated earlier in the upcoming days division leaders will be approached by their bureau director to discuss the changes in the system. There is no point in me listing it here, as it doesn't affect a majority of you.

Thanks,

Undersheriff Jason Rowland

Activity Requirement
Image

As the month of December comes to an end the Executive Staff hope you all enjoyed the holidays and the activity lift, but like all good things it must come to an end. All deputies within the San Andreas County Sheriff's Office are required to return to the one duty report per five days effective immediately. If you still require time then please make an LOA until you are able to return to duty and be up to standard with the 1 in 5 requirement. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding any of this, please do not hesitate to contact the Supervisory Staff or Command Staff.

Employees of the Month
Image

PEO of the Month
This month we recognise the Parking Enforcement Operator that we feel has put the most effort in, and has gone beyond the line of duty multiple times during the month.

PEO of the Month
Image
This award is given to Jonathan Donaldson who has performed the best out of the PEO bracket throughout the month of December.

This would be a first time that we honor a member of the civilian staff, the members of the PEU Command team have come forward to me and asked that we implement this into our system for the monthly letters and I couldn't agree more. This member stayed dedicated through the month, took time during his shift to ensure that even the little details of the SACSO were taken care of. He's acted professional and shown great dedication to the Office.

Deputy of the Month
Every month we recognise the Deputy that we feel has put the most effort in, and has gone beyond the line of duty multiple times during the month.

Deputy of the Month
Image
This award is given to Elise Aitchison who has performed the best out of the Non-Commissioned bracket throughout the month of December.

The Christmas Holiday came and went by rather smoothly, we'd like to point out that Deputy Aitchison made a very special commitment to the Sheriff's Office by taking on a special task. She took on the Christmas special from the SO that was released to the public, we were all very proud (and a bit cringed) at the outcome of the video. She's recently taken back on PA and has made strides to ensure it's getting back to its former glory. We'd like the thank Deputy Aitchison for all of her hard work she's done over the month! We cannot wait to see what else she's got in-store for us

Supervisor of the Month
It is easier for a NCO to be recognised for their duties, as a Sergeant has to consistently do Supervisory work which can easily go unnoticed. However, we take this moment within the newsletter to recognise the best Supervisor of the month, who has performed outstandingly in the field, and administratively
Sergeant of the Month
Image
This award is given to Mike Miller who has performed the best out of the Supervisory bracket throughout the month of December.

This is a pretty special moment within the SO, for the second month in a row Sergeant Mike Miller has been issued the SoM award. The man continues day in and day out regardless of what's going on during the month. He's remained active when there was no requirement to do so. Mike Miller will receive double the reward for SoM and our continued appreciation.

Bulk Promotions

With December being our most inactive month of the year, those who showed dedication throughout the month, ignoring the activity lift were more likely to get promoted. Congratulations to the following deputies for their hard work and dedication.

Concerns
Image

Over the past few months I've noticed a few things that concern me a little bit the biggest being the fact that the chain of command gets ignored frequently. I know I push for transparency within the department and I'm always around if you need to talk to me, but coming to me for every little thing that could easily be handled by a sergeant or command team member is getting a bit old. In short, follow the chain of command, NCO's report to the Supervisory Staff, if Supervisory Staff can't help you move up to the Command Staff, if Command Staff can't help you, move on to Assistant Sheriff Holmes, if Holmes cannot help you, move on to Undersheriff Rowland, then and only then, move on to me.

Moving on, DM groups, I don't mind you all having alts that you can go on to get rid of some stress, but going on your alts just to terrorize deputies are on duty will not be stood for. If you're just going on the alt to stir up shit you will be removed from the department, and will be subject to administrative punishment based on the rules regarding DM squads.

Regards,
Sheriff Deacon Bohannon

Closing Words
Image

Another month coming to an end, I would like to congratulate all of you for your hard work and dedication, over the next few months we have several improvements coming into the SACSO including the new ribbon system and the departmental restructure shown above in the newsletter, but just a hint of a few things to come, Cyber-crimes and Corrections are both things that are huge possibilities for the near future.

That about sums up this months newsletter, if you feel you have been missed in any of the promotions or awards, please don't hesistate to contact the Command Staff and voice your concerns.

Regards,
Sheriff Deacon Bohannon

HOLY FUCK :O
I would like personally to thank everyone who did volunteer during December and remained on duty, this was important as unlike other departments and agencies we didn't have huge gaps between shifts.
